déjà vu

as i was rushing to the nearest supermarket to pick up some groceries for tonight’s dinner, i happened to pass a pair of powder blue Twingos parked side-by-side. Twin Twingos!

two thoughts occurred to me one after another as if on cue:

1. there’s a glitch in the matrix

2. the second Twingo driver definitely had the upper hand in this duo-Twingo dynamic; having all the fun of not only spotting its twin first, but also discovering an available spot to park next to it. The first Twingo driver, in contrast, will either return to their car and do a double take, or - if the second driver has already left by then - never even know that the serendipitous encounter took place. What an unjust asymmetry of knowledge and delight, if you ask me!
