it’s friday the 13th!
I’ve noticed lately that practicing the violin is very cathartic for me emotionally, especially if i’m stressed or caught in a thought loop, so i thought it’d be fun to try a little experiment today: play a basic, 2-octave G-Major scale four different ways, trying my best each time to evoke distinct “moods”!
With Ulrich’s input I picked confusion, disgust, passion & goofiness to challenge myself with a bit of variety.
But first, here’s my “baseline” G-Major scale:
…aaand here are each of my four moody attempts at an otherwise very plain note progression:
confusion-
disgust-
passion-
goofiness-
hmm, i am not sure if i managed to create any distinction between disgust and passion! but maybe that’s not so surprising, given that the two emotions seem to share a certain undertone.
…alright dear reader, that’s all i got for today! Wishing you a spooktacular friday the 13th, and a relaxing weekend!
What a clever and effective experiment. My favorite was goofiness and confusion to me felt more like the journey from sadness to hope. You are pretty freaking neat.
